SJP Law Study
Tuesday was a busy day for me, as I attended the SJP Law study day entitled ‘Collaboration and Innovation in Neurological Practice’, which took place at Hull University. I was both a presenter and an exhibitor! It was a great opportunity to highlight cognitive-communication disorder to the delegates; brain injury can be a very hidden disability, and cognitive-communication disorder can be even more hidden, but have significant impact on a person’s ability to access work, education, leisure and social opportunities. My presentation was titled ‘Lost in conversation: exploring the impact of cognitive communication disorder on life after brain injury’ and was well received by the audience.
I also exhibited as a business owner for the first time, which was very exciting as I now have pens and my very own roller banner stand! My business is growing; networking opportunities such as this one are a great way to meet others working in the field of acquired brain injury. I was delighted to exhibit next to my colleagues from MotionRehab physiotherapy and Rehabilitate OT as some of my great colleagues!
If you’re a case manager, solicitor or therapist looking for expertise in adult speech and language therapy then please do get in touch. Appointments are available across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, and further afield, as well as online when travel is too far.
I’m also looking to take on more therapists to expand my team, so if you’re a speech and language therapist who would like to try a little private work with supervision and support, please do contact me for a chat. It could be the best conversation you ever have!
