A story about the power of Speech and Language Therapy

This is probably one of the best outcomes I have ever had as a Speech and Language Therapist! Pat was unable to talk at all for some time after his stroke. He has done an amazing job with his therapy and now talks all the time! Pat wanted to get a dog, but didn’t feel he could have one when he was unable to talk to it.

It took some time for the dog rescue centres to find the right match for Pat – he needed a calm dog that would not pull him when out for walks. Finally last week Pat and Petal met each other – and are now forever friends! What an amazing thing to happen! Pat has his dog and Petal has a home.
